Wednesday, June 2
Depart from Austin airport direction New York and Prague, the capitol of the Czech Republic.
Thursday, June 3
Arrival in Prague where the bus and your tourguide will be waiting for you and depart to Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic. After check-in at the hotel, free time for rest and individual sightseeing.
Friday, June 4
In the morning visit the factory producing traditional Slovakian ceramic in Modra. Sightseeing of Bratislava, Slovakia ’s capital and largest city. Visit Slavin, a memorial erected in 1960 to the Soviet soldiers killed in the battle for Bratislava at the end of the WWII. Lunch in the revolving restaurant in the 280ft high tower of the second road bridge over the Danube built in 1967-72. Depart to Devin, ruined castle above the junction of the Morava river with the Danube (there was a Roman fort on the site, and the castle is referred to in 864 as the seat of a ruler of the Great Moravian Empire) or have free time for shopping and strolling in the city.
Saturday, June 5
Depart to Hungary, on the way stop in Szentendre, charming village lies on the right bank of the Danube. The streets are lined with brightly colored houses. Many artists lived here. It’s a good place to buy traditional Hungarian articles and souvenirs as embroidered tablecloths, paprika, typical Hungarian glass, etc. Depart to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, check-in, free time.
Sunday, June 6
In the morning free time for eventual shopping or relaxing. In the afternoon a city tour with local guide. Budapest was formed in 1872 with the merger of the three towns of Obuda, Buda and Pest. Visit old historic town Buda rising on several hills – Royal Castle, Holy Trinity Square, Matthias church, Liberation Monument, Citadell with a beautiful view of the city and the river. Visit the Pest part of the city – parliament Building, St. Stephen’s Basilica, etc.
Monday, June 7
On the way to Poland stop in Slovakian city of Banska Bystrica, the town is dominated by the modern memorial of the Slovak National Uprising (with museum) of the Second World War, beautiful old-time main square. Lunch. Depart to Poland, town Bielsko-Biala. Check-in.
Tuesday, June 8
Depart to Wadowice, born town of our Pope John Paul II. Visit the museum and church. Oswiecim (Auschwitz) concentration camp. It was opened in 1940, originally for Polish political prisoners, later received deportees from all over Europe and symbolizes the Nazi attempt to wipe out all Jews and gypsies. Sightseeing in Krakow, the country’s historic center. The Church of Our Lady, chance to buy some souvenirs in the main square with many stalls. Come back to hotel.
Wednesday, June 9
In the morning depart to the Czech Republic, on the way stop at traditional and popular polish flea market, various products. Stop also in Slusovice, opportunity for shopping in the crystal shop, offers also china and other gifts very popular in Texas. There is also horse race track and golf course inside the track next to the shop. Arrival in Zlin, the town of Tomas Bata, town of shoes and also town of greenery, ice-hockey town, industrial and business center of Central Moravia. Check-in.
Thursday, June 10
Depart to Karolinka. Visit to a factory producing glass. You can see the glass being made right at the glass ovens. You’ll have a chance to buy the glass for reasonable prices in the factory shop. Stop in Roznov pod Radhostem, visit the Wallachian wooden village, the oldest part of the Wallachian Open Air Museum. The buildings are more than 100 years old standing here. In the evening Koliba Vlcina Party, music, wine and grilled chicken. “Everyone’s favorite place” you will always remember. Do not miss this party!
Friday, June 11
In the morning visit Lesna, chateau built in the style of romantic follies at the end of the 19th century surrounded by ZOO gardens. After lunch free time for rest or shopping. In the evening great party with Veselanka band, which has played in Texas several times. Music – dancing – drinking – singing = have a great time!
Saturday, June 12
In the morning visit Velehrad the pilgrimage center, it was formerly thought to have been the capital of the Great Moravia Empire and the starting point of SS Cyril and Methodius’s mission. The town was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1990. You will listen to the organ concert in this Velehrad monastery church. After lunch in the wine cellar depart to Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Check in. In the evening take a ride on the boat on river Vltava, see the beauties of Prague – beautifully alighted Prague Castle, Vysehrad, National Theater and other sights of Prague, listen to good music from the accordionist.
Sunday, June 13
In the morning sightseeing of Prague. You can see the Prague castle, Hradcany, St. Vitus Cathedral, Golden Lane, walk on the Charles Bridge which was built in the 14th century. On the Old Town Square see the astronomical clock - Prague horologe. In the afternoon visit the Wenceslas Square and have free tine for own sightseeing and shopping. In the evening visit a great water and light show accompanied with music at Krizik’s fountain.
Monday, June 14
On the way to Karlovy Vary, stop in Plzen, the fourth largest town in the Czech Republic on the confluence of 4 rivers. At the end of the Second World War the town was heavily bombed. It was liberated by the American Army on May 6, 1945, and you will see the memorial to the American Army and step on the piece of American Land. Visit the museum of brewery restaurant, the largest one in Europe. Arrival in Karlovy Vary, check-in. Free time.
Tuesday, June 15
In the morning a visit to a factory producing the so-called 13th spring of Karlovy Vary – Becherovka herb liquor. Visit the factory Nova Role producing Czech porcelain, possibility to buy pink porcelain in the factory shop in Chodov. In the afternoon sightseeing in the most famous spa town in the Czech Republic. This town owes its international fame to its mineral springs, there are 60 springs altogether, but only 12 of them are used. See Muhlbrunnen Colonnade, Sprudel Colonnade. Free time for shopping, in this town there is a big choice of Czech garnets.
Wednesday, June 16
Early in the morning depart to the Prague airport and fly to Austin, Texas. HOME SWEET HOME!!!
