I, too, have had problems with a few of my candles staying staying lit. Just yesterday I returned one to my retailer & they happily exchanged it. I also called Tyler candle company about my problem & they were very friendly, non-accusing, & apologitic. I would have to say though, in the years that I have been burning Tyler candles, I have only had this problem with about two of the large jar candles. In the grand sceme on things, that is not bad. |

I have had 2 Tyler candles that wouldn't stay lit. One was a votive, but the most recent is a large 3 wick one. The wicks are 1/4 inch long and one of the wicks goes out within one minute of lighting it. I didn't purchase my candle from here, but am very frustrated because I really love the scent (High Maintenance). |

I have been burning Tyler candles for over a year. I re-stocked at Christmas and the two new ones I bought will not burn. The wicks will not stay lit! Has anyone else had this happen? I love the way these candles smell and have NEVER had this problem with them before. |

I've never had this happen. Can you exchange your candles? |

I probably could/should have exchanged them but I loved the scent of them so I have kept trying to make them burn. |

Can't you get the same scents? Which ones are they? I would be pretty bummed out if they were discontinued and wouldn't light..... |

Hi Robin, Sorry for such a late reply-- We personally handle and sell hundreds of Tyler candles and this issue very rarely happens. Normally, all Tyler candle burn properly, but please contact us if you have a problem with candles you have bought from us. We would also like to pass on this information: To keep your candles smelling great, burning until all the wax is gone, and enjoying your candles, please remember these few simple steps: 1) Before you light the candle, make sure the wick is only 1/4 inch long. Trim the wick when needed. 2) Do not burn your candles for extended period of time and never leave a burning candle unattended. 3) When putting the candles out, do not blow hard directly into the jar, as the wax is liquified and hot. Thanks and have a great day!! |

I was told to put my Tyler candles out by placing the metal lid on top. That is how I have been extinguishing mine. |

Hi Boo, while I "USED" to put the candles out like that, I don't any more. I believe/think the 'smoke' --when putting the candle out-- eventually goes into the soy wax. I mean, the smoke has to go somewhere... Right? And after doing that for a while, the color changed a little 'smoke' color (obviously). Also, I think it effects the fragrance after a while (more than half the candle). But, its just my opinion. Do you notice any of the "side effects" of putting the lid on extinguish the flame?

None that I have noticed. I place the lid on top but I do not screw it on until the candle has cooled. I assume that the smoke still may dissipate into the air but not noticeably so. At this point, I've never burned a Tyler past the halfway point (because I have too many candles!) and so far, I have had no color change or scent change. |
